The Power of Propaganda

By Taylor Monk, Adrienne Reed <3

Do you think most people in Oceania believe what

they see and hear on the telescreen?
I do think that people in Oceania believe what they see and hear on the
telescreen, why I think that is because if this all you have known from birth and
every day of history is destroyed by nights end.

What is your opinion or

feelings towards this?!

How long can people believe a never-ending stream

of falsehoods and propaganda?
The answer is very situational. However, only in a completely ideal environment
would a group believe an infinite stream of lies and deception. Its just too difficult
to stem the flow of self-thought, unless one was drugged their entire life, as shown
in some other books.
Would you agree? Why?

What kinds of safeguards are in place to prevent

this from happening in our own society?
The safeguards that are put up in our own society to prevent this are: allowing people to
turn off our tvs, the government only has some control over the rights of a human, we
have rights and history books that tell us about the past and we cant make things
disappear.

Can you think of any?

Do You Think Its Possible This Could End Up

Happening to Our Society?
While nothing is unfeasible in this day and age, a society of such extreme
oppression would be unlikely and even if formed would probably not last very long
before being overturned. One only need look at every tyrant in history as evidence.
What Do You Think?

How Much Would You Be Willing To Give Up?

This extreme case scenario does have some characteristics that apply to our
modern government. That being said, for me personally I enjoy my constitutional
freedoms too much to give them up. Supposed security just isnt worth the cost.
What would you give up
for the sake of security?
