What is a sentence?
A group of words that tells a complete thought
Containing a subject and predicate
It begins with a capital letter and ends with punctuation mark

What is a subject?
A person, place or location
It is the who or what that is doing or being something
Helpful hint:
Ask the question, Who or what is verbs or verbed

What is a fragment?
An incomplete sentence that is either:
Small
Broken
Separated
Unfinished thought

Do not use fragmented sentences


Uses fragmented sentences makes you sound like a cave man

After the rains stops
then what?
When you finally take the test
what will happen?

RUN-ON SENTENCE

What is a run-on sentence?


A sentence containing two or more complete sentences
A no for sentence making
Can easily be fixed with a period

Simple Fix
My teacher read my paper she said it was great.
How do we fix this?

My Teacher read my paper.


She said it was great.
