December 2015 ‘The tender on the the project is expected to be issued by Q4, 2016. September 2015 ‘Tender for the project has been cancelled. The project involves various processes like compostir recycling etc. and the client is currently reviewing the entire project. An exact time - frame for iss fresh tenders is unclear at this stage however, itis expected that the project will be re-tendered c 2016 if the project is approved. Source : MEED ‘The bid submission was postponed and was done in the 2nd week of March 2015. The project was put on hold due to environmental issues. However, it has been revived. Develop tender was issued in October 2014 and the submission date is December 10, 2014, Itochu Corps amongst others is bidding for developing the project. The project is on hold due to environmental issues. ‘The project is stil under study. Several studies are currently under way on waste types and the s the complex. The waste treated will include plastic, paper, cardboard, tires, construction waste si cement and sand, as well as agricultural waste such as fertilizers. The projects first phase involves awarding a tender to a private sector company to collect and sh so they can be recycled near the main landfil in the kingdoms south. The second phase includes construction waste recycling, followed by another set of tenders for recycling other types of wast methods that are friendly to the environment as well as to human health ‘The project is currently on hold due to environmental concerns. However, the timeframe for reviv unknown, The project is stil believed to be on hold and no timeline about the revival period has been anno\ Industry sources indicate that the $480m project has been put on hold as CNIM is still awaiting a from the Bahrain authorities. The project wont go ahead until CNIM receives environmental cer the authorities.
