Final Draft Essay (Lab Experimentation on Animals)

When buying clothes or make up, do you consider the animals used for those products?
Many human consumed goods are being experimented on poor animals. What is the true
meaning of morality if animals are abused for the sake of human benefits? It is arguable to say
that those animals in experimentation labs are abnormal, unnatural, and is in a lot of pain. Sure,
we can argue that animals dont have the same characteristics as humans but that doesnt make
them any less than a life. This essay will tackle the negative effects of lab experimentation on
animals such as mutilation, abuse, and the unnatural environment they live in.
Animals are not in any way, shape or form less than a life. Animals trapped in labs are
unable to make natural choices and some of them has never experience fresh air or sunshine. One
way we can prevent animals from being experimented on is by finding alternatives that are less
cruel, more humane, and is reliable. With this, animals who are trapped in cages can be freed in
their natural environment. According to studies, over 70 million animals are abused and executed
in lab experiments every year. By doing this we will save millions of animals from suffering and
torture.
Using results and data collected from experiments conducted on animals can be
dangerous to human health. Studies show that millions of animals each year live in such awful
environment and they endure a lot of inhumane treatment all for the sake of research. Vivisection
is one of the worst forms of animal abuse in our society today. Many animals suffer in a lot of
pain and they are very scared. (Liou, 2) Some examples include harmful substances are put into
the body of rats to induce arthritis and injections for Parkinsons disease are given to apes. Using
animals for experimentation is not the best way to find cures for diseases.

Some researchers use animals to experiment on them out of curiosity. It makes me

furious thinking about those poor animals being experimented on for the sake of some peoples
stupidity. While science experiments are skyrocketing, the lives of animals are slowly declining. .
It is found that over 25 million animals are used in biomedical experimentation, product testing,
and science education. According to studies, over 800 laboratories in the U.S.A is not licensed
and does not have any authority to practice such experiments. And at the end of the day we
should not let our tax money go into unethical practices such as animal experimentation.
Animals should be used for lab experimentation to benefit humans. Cures for diseases
like tuberculosis, malaria, typhus, etc. benefits our world today. (Tatchell, 1) These cures has
made scientists and people knowledgeable about certain diseases. Although many think that
animal experimentation is inhumane we cant deny the fact that it has helped researchers develop
cures for many diseases. It may seem inhumane to use animals for experiments it is also better
than substituting them for humans.
Animal experimentation should be prohibited because over 70 million animals each year
are abused and tortured in lab experiments. It is not morally right to make animals suffer
unnatural conditions for the sake of science. There are a lot of alternatives that are more humane
and much more reliable. Even though it has been proven that a lot of animal tests produced cures
for certain diseases it is still not right to put animal lives in danger for the sake of these cures.
Just think of the ways animals can enjoy their lives without being tortured.
