Socrates

As things go this is the man with the knowledge to me, for a man in his time he knew
much he was born in circa 470 BC in Athens, Greece they didnt know much about him but his
friend Plato did most of the writings. Socrates was of noble birth he had a good education, and he
learned his fathers craft as a stone mason and sculptor. Socrates served in the armored infantryKnown as the hoplite with a shield a big long spear and heavy meatal mask. He was a war hero
of his time even saved a general, he had courage and he was fearless that was the integrity noble
by birth.
This is the man that stood with philosophers, a fearless and full of courage thinker of a
man that had knowledge far better than the others before him. His beliefs were that the mind was
key over the human body, he also believed in two different realms senses and ideas also in
human reason. The more the person knows the better ability to reason and make better choices
for are selfs and that are desires are brought on by choices to make us happy. We are all looking
for happiness I would agree, he also believed that are ultimate wisdom comes from knowing
ones self.
And the more the person knows gives him or her better ability to reason and make better
choices that gives them a better life which leads to true happiness. This is a true fact he was a
wise man there is one more thing I agree with is that the government should be run by people

that have more knowledge than others in that field and that under stood them selfs. Wow what a
statement for a man in that time and how useful for this time, do we really hear what philosophy
has done for us, he was a great thinker. Not a good looking man he also said that beauty was
inside not on the outside. How offend do we here that today in our lives, beauty is only skin
deep. That was one I heard, I do agree that a smart person does not have to be the best looking in
the room, but the better we look the happier we will be if we have the reason and a good mind
for logical thinking.
The mind is key and so is self-awareness also key. I do think that this is true, Socrates
went to his death fallowing the very government he fought for. They were threatened by his
knowledge and wit, and put him to death with hemlock a poison, that was a very bad death and
painful one. what a brave man and with his last breath he said it is a release of the soul from the
body, as a friend I would say great job you have enlightened many generations, with the passion
of knowledge.
He also believed in the afterlife and new there was something out there Just as the ones
before him they sensed it way to go with the senses Socrates you were right on.
A true and noble man of his time brought in to this time an awareness of great thinkers he
thought we all were great thinkers with reason, choices, and logic. Beauty didnt matter you will
be happy if you make good choice that a desire will give you the push you need.
You see he was a master of himself as he drank the hemlock he was as fearless as a
solider he had knowledge that there is something out there and I am ready to learn more thank
you for what you left behind to give the thinkers of this time something to think about.
Most of this info came from are book that was in philosophy (Archetypes of Wisdom) chapter 4)
The problem that he had was one of many what is out there as a friend I would say you are right

there is something out there, (God) and with reason and thought logic and my own senses that he
thought to be the up most key is knowledge and to be able to use it he answered one of the
problems. Was about the soul and body he in bio.com on Socrates death. Pluto writes and said
with his last breath its a releases of the soul from the body. The one thing I liked the most was if
he didnt know something he said I dont know at the end of his life he knew.
