Reflection:
I think it is so important to help students think of themselves as writers and creators and what a better way than through storytelling. I love the idea of having a classroom authors corner and including childrens digital stories allows for easier access. These
classroom authors will be able to share their creativity and also what they learned. I think that through creating students also
develop a deeper understanding of the content.
Oral story-telling has been a part of my entire life and I want to take that part of myself into a classroom and this idea allowed me
to begin to think about a way to integrate traditional story-telling into a modern classroom. I think the format of story-telling in
itself helps students to connect with the information as well as add an emotional investment that carries the comprehension.
Then adding the element of technology makes the information new, exciting and thus more relevant to students.
