Introduction
Group 4 is comprised of Brehaniea Wright from Trinidad & Tobago, Rhonda Grant
from Antigua & Barbuda, Shanica Robin from the Cayman Islands and myself
(Garth Williams) from Jamaica. The purpose of this report is to present the
feedback from at least two of our other peers who have used our online
multimedia tutorial posted on my website at
http://edid6508williams.weebly.com/multimedia-tutorial.html. After presenting a
summary of their feedback, I will then outline the revisions that I will make to
address deficiencies.

We designed and developed this tutorial using audio, video, graphics, and
interactivity features to engage online learners. Our target audience are teachers
who wish to become more engaging instructors and would like to design and
deliver more effective lesson plans. We designed the tutorial to model Robert
Gagnes Nine Events of Instructions. We also chose Gagnes Nine Events of
Instructions as the subject of the tutorial.

Evaluation Rubric
Our course facilitator, Dr. LeRoy Hill, provided a rubric for the evaluation. You may
access a copy at http://edid6508williams.weebly.com/resources.html.
It defined the assessment criteria for each element of the program: storyboard or
planning sheet; organisation of content; originality; copyright and documentation;
format and platform transferability; subject knowledge; graphical design;
mechanics; screen design and use of enhancements. These elements were used to
create a user feedback survey. The evaluation also considers the relevance,
appropriateness and sufficiency of the instructional events, and the functionality of
the tutorial.

Summary of Peer Evaluation

The live results of our peer evaluation survey can be accessed at using Google
forms at the URL below. However, for ease of reference, a summary of the results,
including a graphical presentation of the responses to each criterion is presented
below. The responses were rated on a scale ranging from 1 for excellent to 4 for
poor. Five of the criteria were rated # 1 for excellent and the others rated #2.
The issue to be addressed is navigation. This was mentioned by one of the two
respondents in general comments, which are also presented below.

Defficiences and Rvision Required

The only issue raised by is that the navigating among various elements was
somewhat challenging. Initially, the learner was clicking various buttons and
was moving back and forth, not being quite sure of which should be done first.

Our group came up on this challenge during the testing of the programme
towards the latter stage of development. As a temporary measure we decided
to provide guiding instructions to users on the webpage above the tutorial. In
that regard, I placed the following statement at
http://edid6508williams.weebly.com/multimedia-tutorial.html

Based on the peer feedback, this statement is clearly not sufficient as it

addresses navigation only when taking the Quiz. It will need to address
navigation more generally. This can be done in one of two ways. Revision of
the programming of the navigation links, or enhanced guidance to the user. I
will have to do further research on how to adjust the programming of the

navigational links in Camtasia. The Help tutorial in Camtasia and how to

videos on youtube (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLVpqmh5sf8)
are great research resources.

The other alternative is to provide more explicit guidance to the user before
the start of the tutorial. This can include advice on how to use the Camtasia
menu options which appear on the left of the tutorial screen whenever the
tool bar below the video is mouse over. We may also inform the learner that
when the music is being played, this is an indication that the program has
paused to await some menu selection actionl by the learner.

Here is the revised guidance statement to the learner.

Our blue Menu (see image above) will help you to navigate the tutorial.
However, you may also use Camtasias menu. It is displayed vertically on your
left by moving your cursur to the black bar at the botton of the tutorial. The
Camtasia Play button will take you to the next activity of your choice. A pause
in the music is an indication that it is awaiting your next menu selection.

Survey in Google Form

The link to the survey in Google form is also added to my webpage immediately
following the multimedia tutorial. This allows users to provide their feedback after
the tutorial.
