BACKGROUND and RATIONALE:
Students will demonstrate a clear understanding of each word and its correct alphabetical placing within a group
of words.
This lesson will be a continuation of spelling and grammar to be learned in this course
We will also use this lesson and the content as a n outline for a unit on creative writing.
I do understand that there will be students who do not master the objectives for this lesson and I will have to
differentiate the lesson for them. However, modifications are not covered in this course and arent part of the
lesson.
Procedures:
Prior to Computer (15 minutes)
Teacher Procedures:
Distribute sheet of vocabulary terms to each student and allow them to look over the words to form a
possible connection in their mind.
Student Procedures:
Students will go over each vocabulary term and form a connection in their head in order to complete the
next task of this lesson
At the Computer (25 minutes)
Teacher Procedures:
Have students open the Internet and go to Google Search Images
Monitor and assist as needed
Student Procedures:
Each student will use the computer and search Google Images for an image that relates to each
vocabulary word.
After the Computer (20 minutes)
Teacher Procedures:
Place students in groups of 3 to 4Ask students to share their pictures to the person to the right of them,
Students are to use their inside voices to compare their findings on the Internet.
Student Procedures:
While in a group, students will review each others work and discuss the similarities and differences
between their findings.
Closure
Students will now go back to their seats and individually review their vocabulary words for 5 to 10
minutes.

MODIFICATIONS:
I am aware modifications will be made for students who did not master the objectivesand for those ready for
enrichment. However, modifications are not covered in this course and are not part of this particular lesson.
