General Plan of Action

E - Empower
Last School Year 2015 -2016, the council conducted a lot of
activities such as Bonfire Night 2.0, SASG (Student Athletes Support
Group) and of course, a U- Wide Event Haraya: Ang Tibok ng Puso.
Next School Year, since SOTECH already celebrated its Pearl
Anniversary, theres no where to go but UP. Thus, the council must
brainstorm and think what would be the possible events that could benefit
not just the SOTECH Community but also, the university and of course,
the community.
First on my list is to have a U-Wide event that showcases
presentations or reports that could stimulate new learnings to the students.
Students can show to the university new perspectives and also they can
inspire people. This is very beneficial to the students for their learnings
will not be caged in the four corners of the classroom.
Students must also participate in the youth forums and activities.
Some of the students are not aware that there are a lot of events that is
open to the public. In order to open these gates, effective information drive
must be initiated.
R- Road to Transition
The next semester is fast approaching. Because of the K-12
program, there are no incoming first year students here in SOTECH.
Population in SOTECH will decrease. Thus, we must adapt to these
changes. Selecting new sets of student council offers is crucial to the
overall welfare of the SOTECH Community. These officers are the

catalyst of change. They must work together for SOTECH to become a

powerful organization.
Income generating projects is necessary for a council to survive. We
all know that we have a Sem Fee to make events here like the acquaintance
party, SOTECH Night and also to support our athletes and our delegates
in different university activities. One way to lessen our semester fee is to
provide an income generating project. The council must come up an
effective income generating projects that will really help students
financial burden. From what I have experienced, T Shirt Printing can be
one possible income generating project.

O - One SOTECH
We are all under the same organization. SOTECH. Thus, we must
foster friendship and camaraderie among ourselves. There must be no
boundary that separates the higher years and the lower years. We must
help each other succeed and become a better person. One way to help
foster these is to have an overnight team building event or a series of team
building events at the start of the semester. I believe, with these events,
we can develop trust and friendship.
Mini Litmus is one way to discover the potential of the students here
in SOTECH. It is quite limited for there are a lot of talented persons
besides singing and dancing. There must be a talent night that showcases
different skills and talents of every SOTECH student. Here, we can select
potential students to participate in the different U-Wide events such as
Prima Facie, Painting Contest, etc.
S - SERVICE
Becoming a councilor this semester opened my eyes to the different
issues happening not only in our university but in our society. As an

Iskolar ng Bayan, we must have a stand on the different issues faced by

the Filipino people. Their fight is our fight for we are one of them.
Basic masses integration is an effective activity to know and be
aware of the current issues by the Filipino masses and also to increase
political and social awareness. Here, youth and students come together to
live within a community of the basic masses such as fisherfolks and
farmers.
Our activities must not be limited here in the university. It must
extend to the different communities. One way is to conduct a Disaster
Risk Management program in the different barangays. We can partner
with the different organizations for it to become more successful.
