Note 1: Strap link should be oriented such that lettering near slots is upright in

Note 2: Pin (item 6) is used to restrain strap link (item 2) and strap box (item 3) in
retracted position by placing it in slot "B". It can be stored in hole "A" when
not in use.
Note 3: Load pin (item 1) must be placed in correct position for the jib length being
used.
Caution: Always have pin (item 6) in place to restrain the strap assembly in
the retracted position when working through the access holes in
the side of the strap box (item 3).
The load pin should be inserted through the larger end of the appropriate
keyhole-shaped slot in the strap link (item 2). After insertion, depress the
cross pin release plunger and slide the load pin into the small end of the
keyhole slot. Release the plunger and assure that the load pin is locked in
this position.
Note 4: Remove handle (item 11) after insertion of pin.

GEAR LUBRICATION:
Factory fill: only fill after drum shaft assembly is installed into boom hoist. Fill gear box
(item 10 and drum item 19) with MOBILUBE SHC 75W-90 (MCC #549515) to oil sight
gauge. This oil is also common to brake. See view for location of fill, drain, and level.
Field fill: Refer to service folio (Lubrication Guide).
Note 5:
REPLACEMENT O-RINGS:
O-ring is supplied with hydraulic motor (item 25. for replacement o-ring use 3mm x 220mm.
O-ring is supplied with gearbox item 13 for 14 replacement use (MCC #596361).

Before assembling make sure all grease holes are open. Grease fitting locations are
marked with a . symbol. Use MOBILUX E.P. #2 GREASE or equivalent.

SPEED SENSOR ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE:

1: Turn In (CW) by hand until bottom end gently touches the speed ring
2: Back Out (CCW) 1 turn. Continue backing out until the orientation notch is 180 to the
motor shaft centerline.
3: Torque locknut to approximately 10 ft lbs (44.5 Nm).
Note 10: Add fitting item 32 to "Mi" and "M2" ports. (see Note 10)

Note 1:
Block-up limit control is intended as a protective device. It is not to be used as a hoist

distance control for specific job applications.
Note 2:
Periodic checks should be made to insure that block-up limit control is functioning properly.
Note 3:
CAUTION: Block-up limit control system may not function at machines maximum single
line speed - carefully check each machine for maximum safe line speed.
Note 4:
For blocks without actuator brackets see modification dwg 184433 customer furnished.
Note 5:
When a locking swivel is placed in the wire rope dead end, allow extra length in chain
equal to length of the locking swivel added.
Note 6:
Attach cable to boom or jib by using straps at approximately 10 ft intervals.
Note 7:
Attach cable to boom top or jib top between junction box and switch by using weld studs
at approximately 1 to 2 ft intervals.
Note 8:
For Receptacles Equipped With Shorting Plugs:

Shorting plugs must be plugged in whenever receptacle is not being used.
Note 9:
Electrical enclosures are to be mounted as shown in view G-G, View H-H, View K-K and
view L-L. Torque the KEPS nuts tight to establish less than .01 ohms between frame and
enclosure receptacle shells. All enclosure mounting bolts must be electrically common to
one another ( less than .o1 ohms).

(item 8). The wired load link (item 9) is typically used on the lower point (even multi-parts
of line) and the wireless load link (item 8) is typically used on the upper point (single or two
part line).
One additional wired load link (1 item 189) is required and used on the lower boom point or
lower jib point for tandem drum operation.
Note 11: Transceiver (item 11) and cable WBMJ8 (item 12) are mounted on the jib top for luffing jib
or fixed jib applications.

Greasing Aux Drum Sheave

1: Raise or lower jib until aux drum sheave is in the center
of it's saft and grease groove is completely covered by sheave.
2: Pump grease through grease zerk in boom butt.
3: Before initial boom raising, connect grease line sections
and pump grease through line until grease begins to come
out of grease hone in shaft.

serviceable hydraulic motor components may void warranty.
Note 2:
Hydraulic motor A052430 was redesigned as 81000013. The only

change in the motors is the size or ports M1 and M2 changing from
6 ORB to 12 ORB all other ports and internal components remain
the same. The change is to standardize all of the 160cc frame size
castings. Reducer part 4284550 will be added to the upper level
drum shaft assemblies
