1. Discuss your personal and professional goals for this clinical experience as a Team
Leader and your success in meeting them.
I wanted to be able to collaborate as a team, and get everything done. I didnt want to
be too pushy with everyone because we were all in the same boat and it is a learning
experience for all of us. I wanted to be a good team leader in order to maintain a
smooth functioning team.
2. Discuss your anticipated learning needs for your experience as a Team Leader and your
success in meeting them.
Becoming organized with everything was the most important thing for me, I knew I
needed to let everyone know when things were needed to get done and what needed
to get done, so organization was key.
3. Describe your Team Leader activity plan and its usefulness to you during this clinical
experience.
At the beginning I assigned everyone their patient by which classmate hadnt been
exposed to certain things, I wanted to make it an ultimate learning experience for
everyone. By assigning my classmates to things they havent seen they are going to be
learning a lot more then something they have already seen. After assignments I then
found everyones medication times and treatments that needed to be done and I let
everyone know when that was taking place. I made sure everyone was getting their
assignments done. When people werent busy we assisted others in their plan, and
then answered call lights.
4. Evaluate the interactions and activities done with your peers.
Our interactions were great! We worked as a team towards our main goal of patient
care and was able to get everything done in a timely fashion.
5. Evaluate the interactions and activities done with the client you spent the most time
with.
In our team leader assignment our instructor wanted us to be the team leader and not
have a patient. We were able to spend time with patients who needed extra attention
that the nurses couldnt get to. So I was with many patients helping them toilet, and
eating and extra things they needed.
6. What would you do differently next time?
If I were a real team manager I would do the same thing, I would be more organized
and hopefully have a patient of my own so I wasnt always checking up on the others,
but I enjoyed it and having people look to me for things.

7. If you have had the opportunity to be a Team Leader previous to this experience,
please compare and contrast that experience to your current experience. Did you
manage things differently? Were the outcomes similar?
I havent done a team leader assignment yet. This first experience will be a good
comparison. Hopefully I will get to do them more so I can learn more about being a
leader.
