(3) Creative expression. The student demonstrates musical artistry by
singing or playing an instrument individually and in groups. The
student performs music in a variety of genres at an appropriate level of
difficulty. The student performs from notation and by memory as
appropriate. The student develops cognitive and psychomotor skills.
The student is expected to:
(B) demonstrate psychomotor and kinesthetic skills such as
appropriate posture, breathing, text, diction, articulation, vibrato,
bowings, fingerings, phrasing, independent manual dexterities, and
percussion techniques;
(C) demonstrate rhythmic accuracy using appropriate tempo;
(D) demonstrate observance of key signature and modalities;

Instructional Outcomes:
-Students will play accurate notes and rhythms in Blue Ridge Saga with
a good beautiful sound for individuals and as an ensemble while
performing a legato articulation (notes will touch).

Importance:
a. (curriculum to class) UIL Concert
b. (future learning) We will play other songs that have legato
articulation
c. (life experiences) Style is an important part of music. As we
are more music literate we are able to have a whole learning
experience for our lives.

Procedure:

Anticipatory Set (Warm up)


o Breathing- In for 2 out for 4
Listen for:
Breathing for 2 counts

No sound during breath
