Topic / Theme for Display


Friendships (the lion and the mouse story- Readers theater)
Brief Description (What will the display show?)
The display shows the name of the story with the scripts that the students used at theatre reading
class. Also, there some puppets that the students used it during reading the story of the lion and the
mouse (one of fable stories). This story talk about friendship so I focused in this theme or topic to
make students write about what the steps to be a good friends so they all draw and write sentences
using sequences adverbs of what a good friend is look like.
Moreover, I put the pictures of the students when they were reading to improve them to read more.
Another thing that I put in the display which is an envelopes with students names and drawings of
their looks to write letters or positive comments to friends in the class about their friendships.
Rationale (Why do this display?)
I did this display because I noticed some students are not so good with reading, so I chose this story
the lion and the mouse and did as a lesson first then put it in the display to make students came
and read it anytime they want to. Also, there were fighting between students which made each
student refuse to work with others in group time so I decided to put a friendship them to make them
together more. The worksheets that the students done about steps of good friends help the students
to be more friendly with each other and let the students what they have to do to be good friends.
Also, the envelopes activity has shown the students what their colleagues thinks positively about
them and changed their minds about the others students.

Step by step Plan (How)


1.doing the title and put all the letters together
2.put students pictures
3.stick the story script with the puppets
4.put students worksheets in a way thats clear to students to see
5. do the envelope positive comments board and make the relational of the display

Timeline (When)
1. 26-10-2014, Sunday putting the lesson plan and the display plan
2. 27-10-2014, Monday doing the envelops board activity at home
3. 29-10-2014, Wednesday printing all the labels or sheets and made the students do how to
be a good friend paper
4. 30-10-2014, Thursday until 3-11-2014, Sunday putting all sheets, pictures, the story script
and the title all together and finished the display.

Others
Students were checking envelops happily at the beginning and the ending of the day only. I made the
students write letter each 3 days write 2 only and I wrote for all of them since some students will feel
bad that they dont have any letters.
In the first week I got some difficulties with getting a place to put my display in so I get late I little bit.
But, after a lot of conversations with my teacher I finally get one in the second week.
