Feap 4a- Analyzes and applies data from multiple assessments

and measures to diagnose students learning needs, informs
instruction based on those needs, and drives the learning
process
Since I have started my final internship, I have been apart of two
district quarterly checks, which are a type of summative assessment to
make sure that students are meeting the standards that should be
taught in that quarter. My CT and I use the quarterly check data to
drive our lessons and to decide where there are deficiencies and what
standards need to be revisited. In addition, tests and quizzes are given
out throughout the year to measure student understanding so that I
can see if anything needs to be talked about again. Sometimes, even
simple observations are used to decide if students are following along
during the learning process and to see if another step needs to be
taken so that students can grasp a concept.

Feap 4b- Designs and aligns formative and summative

assessments that match
learning objectives and lead to mastery
Towards the end of the semester, I started making my own formative
and summative assessments for the students to do after lessons. For
example, after every math lesson, I have students do practice math
problems in their interactive notebooks to practice the objective taught
that day. In addition, I just recently created a summative unit
assessment for fractions for the students to take after I had taught all
of the lessons. I used the appropriate standards and objectives to align
with the questions.

Feap 4c-Uses a variety of assessment tools to monitor student

progress, achievement and learning gains
I have used multiple assessment tools to monitor student progress
since I have started interning. Some of those tools include anecdotal
notes, homework, quizzes, and unit exams. All of these things are used
to gauge how a student is grasping a concept and to decide if things
need to be retaught or taught in a different way. A recording grade
books is used to see grades across the board and allows for me to
notice who might need that extra support. The assessment tools are
designed for students to succeed. They include the standard and
objectives that were just taught and should measure how well a
student understood that topic.

Feap4d-Modifies assessments and testing conditions to

accommodate learning styles and varying levels of knowledge
There is one student in my internship classroom that needs to be
tested in a separate area from the rest of the class because he gets
easily distracted. In addition, he has to have things read to him
multiple times and very slowly. In addition, I give out multiplication
quizzes every other day to practice multiplication fluency and I have a
few students who receive extra time on these quizzes so that they can

have a better chance of succeeding. Many of my students have

different testing accommodations and it is important that I allow them
these accommodations so that they have the best chance to succeed,
academically.

Feap 4e-Shares the importance and outcomes of student

assessment data with the student and the students
parent/caregiver(s)
Sharing outcomes of assessments with the students and their
guardians is a very important component to student success and
achievement. Whether the student is doing poorly, doing outstanding
or showing huge growth, it is important that you are constantly
keeping the student and the parents in the loop. After each
assessment, I send them home for the parents to see. If a student did
poorly, it is important that the parent see it, so the students must have
a parent sign it at home and return it to school. For those students who
struggle, parent/guardian conferences are important so that I can
communicate things that can be done for improvement. In addition,
you want to let the student know where they stand academically, so
that they can take their learning seriously, especially those who are
low level. You want to encourage them to try their best.

Feap 4f-Applies technology to organize and integrate

assessment information
After each major assessment, my CT and I make a spreadsheet with
student grades so that we can see across all of the students and see a
class average. In addition, it allows us to see which questions were
commonly missed and which topics might need to be revisited. Using
technology also allows for easy communication with guardians and
students. It can lay out information in an organizing way so that they
can see how that student is doing in each subject.
