Hello,
My name is Kelly Larson and I am a part of the Habitat for Humanity of McLean County public relations team along with Megan Ponti. Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit organization that focuses on building and restoring homes for those in need. Our mission is to put Gods love into action and
bring people together to build homes, communities and hope. We envision a world where everyone
has a decent place to live. This press kit will inform you on our organization along with our upcoming
event, Supplies for Miles.
Supplies for Miles will take place on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. This will be a
supplies fundraiser where we will collect home building supplies as well as monetary donations to go
toward building supplies in need. The event will take place at participating Menards and Home Depot
stores of Bloomington, IL and Normal, IL.
Through this event we also seek community members that are interested in volunteering for upcoming building projects for families in need. We hope that supply donation may spark interest into putting
those supplies to use for a good cause.
At the event, we will have a large tent set up where we will be grilling hot dogs and hamburgers for
purchase and all proceeds will go toward future building projects. In addition, we will be having 107.7
The Bull playing music at the event.
In this press kit we will provide a news release for the media about the event, a social media release
for links and handle information, a fact sheet regarding our organization in depth, biographies highlighting some of our most important players within Habitat for Humanity of McLean County, and two
direct mail flyers to inform community members of the organization and the event.
Community members interested in the event can go to www.habitatmclean.org to find supplies that we
accept under the get involved tab, wish list. Monetary donations will be accepted in the form of cash or
checks. All supplies, monetary donations and volunteer sign-ups are greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Kelly Larson
