Rating:

Feedback and recommendations:

Ms. Wissinger had students draw different types of lines
and label a description of each in order to teach the new
content. Students were able to refer to their geometry
flipbook for help with answering questions that were asked.
Their "tools" were later used when students were working
independently to identify and match different types of lines
with definitions.

Rating:

Feedback and recommendations:

Ms. Wissinger's lesson plans continue to be thorough and
well developed and align perfectly with the third grade
standards. She continues to implement technology with the
use of the Smart Board and our new discovery, Plickers.
She is always prepared with her lessons/copies when we
meet for team planning and is able to discuss and describe
her lessons to the other teachers showing that she takes
pride in what she's teaching. Ms. Wissinger stays on task
her in lesson delivery/activity and shows differentiation in
lessons by asking questions in a different way, staying
close to those students who need 1-on-1, and delivering the
lesson in a way to meet those auditory and visual learners.

caring, respectful and enthusiastic
Models a respect for cultural differences and student diversity
by displaying sensitivity and acceptance
Actively listens to students
Positively reinforces appropriate student behaviors

Feedback and recommendations:

Ms. Wissinger began the lesson reviewing the geometry
terms in the student's flipbook. She used popsicle students
to randomly call on students so that all students had a
chance at answering. After reviewing, she clearly stated
the daily objective and what the students were going to be
doing. Students then completed the identification and
drawing of different lines together, while Ms. Wissinger
drew and labeled on the Smart Board. While students were
working independently, Ms. Wissinger continued to walk
around and monitor student progress and answer any
questions, along with reminding students to use their
"geometry tools" to help them complete the activity.

Rating:

Feedback and recommendations:

Ms. Wissinger continues to promote a positive learning
environment with positive feedback and encouragement.
She identifies struggling students or students who may or
may not know the answer and helps them by prompting
them and asking the question in a different way. The
students know that Ms. Wissinger cares for them and is
always available to help with tasks. Her sweet attitude and
positive comments to the children have really helped to
create great relationships.

Note 2-3 specific recommendations for growth that will be evaluated during future observations:
I love that you take such pride in delivering new content to the students. You thoroughly explain new words, new ideas, new
definitions in a way that students really understand the content. Great job adding in real-life visuals and situations to help teach the
content. I love knowing that my class is in good hands with you teaching and you deliver the content in such a way that the students
really understand it, especially with SOLs right around the corner. Continue your hard work and determination! You're doing great!
