Statement:

When it comes to the use of nuclear energy and weapons, I believe that past
international tragedies and the current state of the earths environment are both reason enough
to leave the development of nuclear energy in the past and push on for clean, renewable, and
efficient energy sources. In regards to energy, Americas number 1 priority should be caring for
the health of the earth and those who inhabit it. We have seen in the past how Nuclear power
plants have devastated entire societies. We have lived through the tragedy of Fukushima
Japan, where many were forced to evacuate their homes due to the risks caused by toxic
radiation leaks. The toxic waste byproducts of nuclear plants are not worth the risks of the
technologys benefit. With our plan we will implement more solar, wind, and geothermal energy
alternatives that are ultimately more cost-effective than nuclear plants and promise a future for
America that ensures less harm to the earths environment, animals, and people. According to
Dissident Voice.Org, there are currently 23,000 known nuclear weapons around the world with
2,500 on high alert meaning that they are ready to be launched at any time. We cannot stand by
and do nothing while threats like this have to potential to wipe out every man, woman and child
on this planet. With the plan by our campaign we will begin to decrease the amount of nuclear
plants and nuclear weaponry we have and place sanctions on trade, and with the help of the
U.N. on other countries until there is a significant decrease in the amount of nuclear weaponry
as we work to eliminate it completely.

the health of the earth and those who inhabit it. We have seen in the past how Nuclear power
plants have devastated entire societies. We have lived through the tragedy of Fukushima
Japan, where according to World Nuclear, 100,000 people were forced to evacuate their homes
due to the risks caused by toxic radiation leaks. It was estimated that there were 130 cancer
related deaths that were consequently caused by the power plants radiation leaks. The toxic
waste byproducts of nuclear plants are not worth the risks of the technologys benefit. With our
plan we will implement more solar, wind, and geothermal energy alternatives that are ultimately
more cost-effective than nuclear plants and promise a future for America that ensures less harm
to the earths environment, animals, and people. In reference to nuclear weaponry there are
significant threats to the destruction of mankind if the tensions between two nuclear possessing
states were to heighten. According to Dissident Voice there are currently 23,000 known nuclear
weapons around the world with 2,500 on high alert meaning that they are ready to be launched
at any time. Additionally if a nuclear power station or nuclear waste disposal site were the target
of a nuclear attack it has been estimated that the resulting contamination would cover an area
nearly 3 times that of Wales. We cannot stand by and do nothing while threats like this have to
potential to wipe out every man, woman and child on this planet. With the plan by our campaign
we will begin to decrease the amount of nuclear plants and nuclear weaponry we have and
