NVHS School-Wide Professional Development Plan

2015-2016
Goal #1
Increase proficiency in ALL tested areas, with concerted emphasis in Math I, English II, and
Biology for all subgroups by 10 percentage points as measured by EOCs, NCFE, and CTE Post
assessments during the 2015-2016 school year.
Activities/Action Steps

Administer and utilize the results of pre-assessment data, data analysis, EVAAS,
benchmarks, school-net and other assessment data (1) to identify students strengths
and weaknesses, (2) to identify students participation in intervention and
acceleration programs, and (3) to differentiate instruction in the class.
Utilize Professional Learning Community meetings to evaluate data (Common
Formative Assessment) and develop common lesson plans.
Implement research-based teaching and learning strategies to master the curriculum.
Develop, implement, and monitor literacy and vocabulary across the curriculum. (1)
Write weekly in all classes and (2) Vocabulary Word walls
