Standard #8: Instructional Strategies

The teacher understands and uses a variety of instructional strategies to encourage learners to
develop deep understanding of content areas and their connections, and to build skills to apply
knowledge in meaningful ways.
Name of Artifact: Standardized Testing
Date: December 8, 2016
Course: EDUC 250
Brief Description:
InTASC Standard 8 shows that there are more ways to teach than what might first be the
idea. There are many different ways that teachers need to teach in order to be effective. If a
teacher tries to use only one way the students will be left feeling confused and will not have the
knowledge needed to be a functioning member of society.
Rationale:
This essay demonstrates the importance of InTASC 8 by showing that just testing or
trying to do too much of math and science will not be effective in creating a learning and
effective classroom. There are many different ways to go about teaching, spending too much
time focusing on just the results without spending different effective methods on other subjects
will not benefit the children.
