The idea behind this program Isto prepare youth to be prepared fst responders for emergency stuatons. This taining wil not be spec fo one dcipine (ie law ‘enforcement, fre, medical). The taining i being designed to cross each of those disciplines including couraes in fire safety extinguisher use, crowd contol. team builing and much much ‘more, Thats the idea behind CERT (Ciizen Emergency Response Teams). We are looking 1) atvact youth groups from many diferent dscpines and geographical locations. | already have Interest from Expbrer POSTs, Ventore Units, and Boy Scouts. We also nave interest from the "Young Marines and possibly a couple church groups and a Youth Medical Reserve Group. (Our curent funding wil cover the cost ofthe camp lodging and meals for 100 participants. We ‘are gatherng supolies for up to 180 participants, with all te traning free. You conduct is representative or your ‘organization and its leaders. Please conduct yourselves as responsible young adults at all times. 1. Each group advisor (leader) shall be responsible for maintaining discipline, security, and the standards of conduct outlined inthis Code of Conduct. All participants will be properly dressed and presentable at all times, All atendees are expected to participate in ALL scheduled events and trainings Ail attendees are to only go in their own cabins and their own lockers. Other ‘cabins, lockers, bunks, and all items not belonging to an attendee are off limits 5. Each attendee is personally responsible for any damage, breakage, ot loss of ‘property that isthe result of thei negligence or action. Your group / agency will 'be charged for damage not covered by individual members, 6. Loss of personal articles isnot the responsibilty of the Lafourche Parish Sherif’s Office, Citizen Corps, or the facility where this raining is being conducted. 7. Vehicles are only permitted for ariving at and leaving from the event. During the week vehicles should be parked across the gravel road from your eabins, NOT on the same side as the cabin! 8. Unregistered persons are not allowed in the cabins or activities. All personnel ‘must check in with the staff 9. The purchase, possession, or consumption of alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs atthe event will not be allowed or tolerated. This applies to ALL participants ~ youth and adults. 10.NO food or drinks are allowed in the cabins. Groups are encouraged to bring ‘additional drinks for their participants, but those drinks, ice chests, snacks, ete ‘must be kept outside the cabins, Also no ice is available at the camp. Advisors ‘must bring ice with them or eave the facility to purchase it. 11 Fireworks of ll kinds are strictly prohibited, 12. Lt. Lafate Day in conjunction with the State Citizen Corps and other 2010 Teen CERT staff will serve as a review panel with regard to any serious violations of conduct. Conférence Staff reserves the right to send any participant home for violation ofthis Code of Conduct.
