To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to recommend Jaclyn Turner for a teaching position at your school. I have worked with
Jaclyn since August of 2015. She began as a volunteer in my 3rd grade classroom and continued as a
Student Teacher for the spring semester of 2016. Ms. Turner is responsible, respectful, cooperative and
collaborative. It has been a pleasure and a learning experience working with her. She has a positive
attitude and an infectious enthusiasm toward teaching and learning. She creates and maintains an
environment that is safe and that encourages risk taking. She is flexible in her approach, always willing
to modify and adjust her lessons and teaching in response to student needs and learning. She is able to
accommodate the instructional needs of students with learning challenges as well as provide
enrichment lessons for those who are ready to take on greater depth of knowledge analysis and
synthesis. She works one on one with students, leads small groups and is able to actively engage all
students in whole group instruction. Ms. Turner worked with our entire 3rd grade team developing
lessons, quarterly scope and sequence, and intervention strategies as a part of our PLC (Professional
Learning Community). She attended weekly professional development and bi-weekly team meetings.
She attended parent teacher conferences and was able to provide insight and information for parents
about students struggles and successes in the classroom. She exhibits cultural awareness, encouraging
students to bring their personal experiences and heritage into the classroom.
It is with the utmost confidence in her abilities as a teacher that I recommend Jaclyn Turner.
