Incorporating an on-site daycare is very thoughtful and beneficiary for parents, children and also
the company itself. However, the feasibility and the cost of such is in great consideration because
it is something that need to be thought about.

In this article Lee's main focus is on the growth of employers supported daycare centers
in the United States. The significance of on-site daycare center is recruitment and retention of
employees. Building an on-site daycare at Stride Rice corporation will decreased absenteeism,
improved worker morale, job performance and the company's public image. It will created an
environment in which the workers can focus on work, while knowing their children is being well
cared by a competent professional. In addition, this article may be out dated but it is very

relevant in respect to the information it contained that supported the hypothesis that on-site is
worth the cost over all.

According to this article Arnold Hiatt incorporate an on-site daycare facilities that
accommodates the needs of the employees of his company. He also expanded the facilities to
serve nearby residence as well. The main function of the center is to offer medical services and
prepares children for school. Having an on-site daycare center to the company is believe to
promote corporate responsibility and reaching out to the community. Over all, apart from
employees benefiting from this adjustment it also will enhances the company profit. Once again
the oldness of this article might by a drawback but it supported the question that is being ask.
Going through with the idea as planned will surely reduce absenteeism/turnovers and aim media
attention to the company that may positively affect recruiting initiatives. A work place is like an
extended family where the employees are putting in works and hopefully in return expecting the
department to provide some care for their children in this situation. In the end both party is
gaining a cost.

In the article it talks about how both parents returning back to work after a child is born
have made it necessary for employees during the first half of their working careers. It also talks
about having a daycare center on-site will make a child parent relationship improve which can
increase employees morale and give the organization a caring look. The company will establish
an extremely competitive competition with other businesses. Therefore, this article makes clear
connection to the argument whether or not on-site daycare centers is worth the cost.
In conclusion after the enquiries we conducted we are confident that on-site daycare
centers is worth the cost for the parents, children and the organization. Even though the articles
were a bit out dated it still showed and contained relevant information that supported our
hypothesis. Incorporate an on-site daycare center will boost the input of workers and solidify the
image of the company.
