The centrifugal pump is required to raise water pressure or induce flow in a
controlled volume. The pump must contain an impeller. Water must be able to enter the pump through the eye of the impeller. The impeller must be able to rotate in a high speed allowing the water surrounding it to also rotate and create pressure. This impeller must be fitted inside a casing so the water moving out will be collected inside it and will move in the same direction as rotation of impeller to a discharge nozzle. The impeller must contain backward curved veins with an eye configuration to allow faster water flow. A shaft must be put in place between the impeller and motor because of the high water pressure inside the casing, it is important to implement a proper sealing arrangement to avoid leakage. It is ideal for bearings to be used to mount the impeller in order to strengthen the seal. The pump must have a drive shaft of 8mm in diameter and a maximum impeller diameter of 60mm. Inlet and outlet pipes must be clear polly tube with an internal diameter of 19mm.
