V.R. : I continuously collaborate with my peers. We gain extra knowledge from the different experiences we had while shadowing a nurse.

V.R. : I am aware of many cultural beliefs and practices that clients may have. One of the clients talked about how their doctors back home
would do things, and the way Canada practices medicine is very different. I still need to encounter more clients with different religious
standpoints to better my next client encounter.

V.R. : When a patient is able to ambulate on their own and enjoys leaving the floor, then we will respect that. If the time their gone conflicts
with the time that we were supposed to give certain medications then we will have to work around that. A plan will have to be made so that
medication times can be negotiated with the patient.

V.R. : Both staff and patients have shown great patients with the nursing students from Humber and vice versa. The staff speaks with
respect to the patients and performs their task appropriately.

V.R. : When a patient has concerns with their bowel movements, and if a sample is sent to the lab and comes back positive for c-diff, then I
will follow the appropriate precautions, before and after lab results arrive, to protect the safety of everyone in contact with that patient.

V.R. : I prepare a client that is diagnosed with COPD in the morning for their physio appointment. Before I place them in the wheelchair I
check their oxygenation saturation and incase it's low i would help them out on their oxygen mask for oxygen delivery.

V.R. : I notify the nurse when the patient is at physio. I also keep track of how long they attend for. If the patient has not attended a physio
session for the day i prepare the patient, dress them, then I notify the physio therapist.

V.R. : I kept an eye on the food intake for a diabetic patient and made sure to encourage more food and fliud intake so that they could
recieve their diabetic medications. I was unable to give all medications because they refused a glucose reading and to eat their food.

I will take responsibility for completing all nursing care plans needed for my assigned patients. I will come on time so I can benefit from all patient
huddles at the beginning of the shift. I will be well informed on the patient diagnosis and keep medication information at hand so I can avoid
medication error.
