Year 5-6

Senior Students wrote what they know about the purpose of the different parts of the
learning process.
1.Entry point
Charlotte D.: When you do an activity to introduce the topic, it gets us excited for what is going
to happen in the unit.
Esther:To get ready and motive me to learn more about the topic.
Vinca:To get exciting.
Tahlia:to get you ready and excited for the unit
Maddie: Get you excited about your learning.
Jasmine: To get excited for the unit.
Krishna: To get us excited for the unit.
Ibrahim: We look forward to learning something new.
2. Knowledge harvest
Charlotte D. :The knowledge harvest is when we find out what we know about the unit before it
starts. It helps find out about the things we do need to learn and the things we dont need to
learn about the unit.
To see what you know about the learning and what the teachers need to teach.
Tahlia: to see what we already know about the topic
Esther:Knowledge harvest is we understand the topic first.
Vinca:The test before the unit
Krishna: To do a test and see what we already know.
Ibrahim: Is gaining knowledge about the unit.
3. Explain the theme
Maddie: To Introduce you to the topic that you are learning.
Tahlia: to explain what we are going to learn about
Jasmine:To help us know what we are going to learn about.
Esther:to explain the topic and what we learn.
Vinca:Understand the topic.
Ibrahim:To express your knowledge about the unit.
Krishna:To explain what we are going to learn about.
4. Research
Maddie: You research about the topic and learn more about it.
Tahlia: To see more about the topic on the Internet
Jasmine:To learn more about the topic.
Vinca:To find information

Esther:To give more information


Krishna: To research about it so that you can learn more about the topic you are learning.
Ibrahim: To lookout for information or knowledge about the topic from all possible sources
( internet/websites, library books, asking friends and family)
5. Recording
Jasmine: to record what you have just learnt after your research.
Maddie: Record what you just learned when you researched.
Vinca: to relate
Esther: To record thing that you learn
Tahlia: To record the thing that you just learnt
Krishna: To record the topic we learned about.
Ibrahim: To note down all the information you have gathered.
6. Exit point
Maddie:When you do something that shows what you learned at the end of the unit.
Tahlia : when we show what we learnt at the end of the unit
Jasmine:What you do to finish up the unit.
Esther:To show that what we have learn
Vinca:finish the unit
Krishna: To finish up the unit and do something to show what you have learned.
Ibrahim: To complete the unit.

Reflect on the unit and what you learned.
