Characteristics of Low Voltage distribution switchgears

LV switchgear switchgears are intended for distribution of electricity and control of electrical drives and
processes in industry at the low-voltage level. They are produced for short circuit currents up to 60 kA. Above
60 kA distribution switchgears are manufactured and assembled by standardized configurations (licensed by ABB
Striebel & John) and have a status of typically attested switchgears, with short circuit currents up to 100KA.
The structure of switchgears is made of perforated curved sections of pickled steel thickness of = 2.5 mm,
interconnected by welding or mounting technology, structural profiles and corner castings, licensed by Striebel &
John. The front door opens to the angle of 120, and side and back sides according to demands as fixed caps, lids
and lock the lid, or a combination of fixed and hinged door for access to equipment from the back. Lock on the
front door has the swivel with three point fixing.
For placing equipment inside the switchgears a vertical and horizontal beams are used who are made of
perforated steel plate pickled = (2 - 3) mm. Cabinet panels have their bases, which are compiled into
functionally related record. Number of panels in the style is dictated by the conditions of transport and assembly
facility, and the weight and dimensions of installed equipment. The degree of mechanical protection, depending
on the conditions and the installation site, is IP20 to IP55. High level of IP protection is achieved by using
automated (robot) technology for soaking polyurethane seals on doors and switchgear covers. Corrosion
protection is performed by electrostatic coating, in standard RAL 7032/7035 color or in the shade as required by
the Purchaser.
Cabinet dimensions are standard, but depending on the
conditions on site they may be different. The standard
dimensions for switchgears are:
Freestanding type ISL:
Width 400-1200mm,
Depth 400-900 mm,
Height 1600-2200mm.
Upgraded/Installed Locker NL type:
Width 400-1400mm,
Depth 200-350 mm,
Height 550-1400mm.

High level of technical quality for low voltage switchgear have been verified by
type testing of main distribution panels of type MDB for current up to 2500 A,
made in Konar Institute Zagreb, Croatia which have licence from:
EA european co-operation for Accreditation.
