Financial Services Manager


Location

Compensation
$55,000 - $70,000 annually plus performance bonus and medical and dental
benefits
G-Pack Enterprises was founded in 1995, by Sarah Collins and its Chief
Operating Officer, Mark Sampson. The firm is an expanding local business,
that manufacturers and distributes packaging solutions across North
America.

Job Description
The Financial Services Manager will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will be
responsible for overseeing the planning and directing of financial and administrative
functions of the company. The incumbent will follow company policies and
procedures, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
and related legislation. The incumbent will prepare the budget, conduct financial
analysis and prepare financial reports, develop and implement an effective system
of accounting and manage the payroll system. The incumbent will also be flexible,
be honest and trustworthy, have a strong work ethic and possess cultural
awareness and sensitivity.

Education and Experience


Professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA)
Several years of related financial experience, with at least 2 years in a senior
role
Must pass a criminal background and credit check

Duties
Financial and human resource planning and payroll duties
Provide financial advice and guidance to the Chief Operating Officer
Contribute to strategic financial and human resources planning
Research and prepare the annual budget
Prepare detailed reports on financial and human resources matters
Manage the payroll system to ensure staff are paid in a timely manner
Ensure the maintenance of personnel files and computer systems
Provide assistance in human recourses matters and ensure compliance with
financial and human resources legislation, policies and procedures
Provide leadership by delegating tasks, respond to staff inquiries, conduct
performance evaluations, and provide training and development
opportunities

Comptroller duties
Manage accounting records and financial systems
Conduct financial analysis and prepare detailed financial reports

Ensure compliance with financial legislation, and policies and procedures
Develop and implement purchasing practices and monitor the purchasing
system
Prepare tender contracts and manage administer the contracts
Respond to the auditors comments regarding finances and operations and
address the problems
Implement and monitor the payment authority practices
Establish and maintain cash controls
Monitor department spending and recommend corrective actions as
necessary
Manage investments and reserves and reconcile general ledger accounts
