Learners engage with the learning process

Mile Post 1

Year 2 learners are engaged in the Knowledge Harvest phase of the learning process for the unit "Media Magic".
Students worked in groups and used their prior knowledge to brainstorm ideas on the different ways we
communicate to one another and to an audience. They reflected how gathering together all the knowledge they
have helps them see where to move forward to in the coming weeks.

Mile Post 2
Year 3 got very excited about the use of Forces in Motion during the Entry Point of the unit. All Year 3
joined in a Tug-of-War competition. Afterwards, students reflected on the types of forces that were at
work. Then throughout the unit, students referred back to the Tug-of-War Entry Point when discussing
friction, push/pull and heat. They connected the learning and the experience of the Entry Point to the
key learning outcomes of the theme, Forces.

Mile Post 3

Year 5-6 learners researched significant events in world history and record their findings in

living timelines" with positive events above the bar and negative events listed below the bar.
