MENTAL HEALTH

AWARENESS SEMINAR
C

Agency Project
Presented by: Ja'Kayla Hill

Background/Purpose
The project Mental Health Awareness Seminar is being considered based on
situations where clients have mentioned their mental health issues, but have
not received proper treatment due to stigma attached to mental disorders.
The project will consist of several classes that will provide basic information
about mental health to increase client knowledge on the subject. The project
will hopefully address mental health concerns and bring awareness to the
topic to inform clients on information and possible services that may be
available to them.

Objectives
As a result of this project the participants will:
Understand the importance of discussing mental health.
Communicate their mental health issue in a straightforward manner amongst their peers
and/or family.

Be able to disregard any myths associated with mental health.

Have confidence of seeking services or treatment for their condition or
helping someone else seek help.

The end result of this project is that clients of ORC will have the assurance they can seek help for
their mental health condition and feel more comfortable discussing their conditions.
