Types of Relation
Relation can be classified into 4 types:
1. One-to-one relation
2. Many-to-one relation
3. One-to-many relation
4. Many-to-many relation

Composite Function
Example 4
If f(x) = 2x + 5 and g(x) = x2 1, find gf(2).
1.4.1
Example 5
Given f(x) = hx + k, g(x) = (x + 1)2 + 4 and fg(x) = 2(x+1)2 + 5. Find the value of g2(2) and the
value of h and k.

Example 6
A function f is defined by f(x) = 2x + 5. Find the function g if fg(x) = 3x 8.
1.4.3
Example 7
