While listening to the song UP Pa Rin Ang Aming Awit, I was pretty much amazed by

the pieces excellent voice leading. The transfer of the melodic line from one voice to another is
very smooth. In the beginning, from the Altos, the melody transferred to the male section in
unison, and then to the Bass, and eventually to the Sopranos. There was no particular section
where the melody is assigned; it then seemed to me that each voice is independent. After the
transfer is done, the voice which formerly sang the melodic line will proceed to harmonize with
the other voices. There were a lot of Soprano-Alto and Tenor-Bass duets in the piece, which
made their harmonization tighter and more effective. And at different points of the song, the
functions of the voices varied. At some point they would execute a harmonic function, and then
later on will do a rhythmic function, giving an excellent variation of feels to the audience.
