REFLECTION
Sharing of an individuals own time is very critical, moreover if it is only spent to other people
who does not have so much significance or contribution in our life rather than spending it more
efficiently for own's benefit, but having spent thirty hours of our time in an institution like Sacred Heart
Parish which also serves as an alternative learning school is something worth spending. It is because we
get to have experience a new environment in which not only our time was shared but also our God given
knowledge and skills and most especially the smile that we have brought to each students and farmers
that we had socialize with in which might have boost their energy towards learning and planting.
Community and Social Awareness in our nation's present situation is very vital especially now
that the national election is fast approaching. We must be able to measure which these years election
candidates can improve our economic status and also eradicate the different social injustices that has
been circularizing around the nation. I also get to realize in this immersion that we must look back on
the basic values that we have enriched our minds as a Bedan and as a Christian, and to be able to always
pay it forward, as one of the board of Sacred Heart Parish, an alumnus of San Beda, is a person who
seeks to reach out to those who are in need more importantly the education which is the foundation of
growth for every individual.
This particular experience enlightens my mind and inspires me again to do atleast an act of
random kindness everyday in which can be perceive by most of us as a thing that is weightless but for
others it could make a great impact on their daily life, it would be more effectively done if each one of
us offer this small act of random kindness as it could build a society wherein everyone would benefit
and change to a better state of themselves. This immersion also testifies that as an individual and
Christian most of the people still trust God and dont lose their Hope even if Life knocks them back,
which made me apprehend that we must not surrender and not lose hope and instead we must be
persistent on giving our best even if failures and hardships becomes a hindrance, we must not forget that
God will always be there, we just have to ask for his help and guidance.
