ones personal and professional life. We will also discuss how to market
your SI leader experience, particularly on a resume.

Fall 2016
o Application Process
The priority application date for Fall 2016 positions was Friday, March
11th but has been extended!
If you are asked, applications/materials can be received after this date,
but this is the priority deadline for consideration
o Group interviews are taking place this week!
Individual Candidate Interviews Sign-up
A Google form will be going out in the next week or so to sign-up
to sit-in on individual interviews for new SI leaders!
SI leaders have great insight to share to prospective leaders
about their experience and therefore we really encourage
signing-up for a slot(s)!
o Intent to Return
Returners go through a different process than new applicants do in
terms of serving as an SIL for the Spring Semester
When making course placements for Fall, we do give returning SI
Leaders preference over new peer leader candidates based on these
forms; therefore please take the time to fill them out intentionally!*
ALL SILs will complete the S16 Reflection and Intent to Return Form
for F16
The form and submission link can be found on Blackboard in the
left-hand navigation menu
*All SILs will fill these out, whether they plan to return or not*
The ITR forms are due Friday, April 1st by 5:00pm
Google Sites
o Please be sure that you have been keeping your Google site
webpage up to date*
o Some of you have been reached out to with feedback about your Google site
or with some suggestions; this feedback is just meant to help you use your
Google site to market your sessions!
Easter Sunday (ALL THE FOLLOWING INFO IS ON SLIDE)
o There will be regularly-held sessions on Easter Sunday! However

If you choose to reschedule your session for Easter Sunday, it will

not be counted as a personal SCRF; however, it is expected that
you reschedule it not just cancel it.
SCRFs for Easter Sunday are due by Sunday (3/20)
Mid-Semester Evaluation Process (REMIND)
o Reference most recent emails from Marissa; they are to be completed by this
Friday, March 18th!
o There are 3 options for students to submit feedback (we prefer the first one)

Team Teach Supervisor/PAs/Mentors (15 minutes)

about their topic for 1-2 minutes
SI Leader Experience on a Resume PA/Mentors (15 minutes)
Think-Pair-Share
o Leaders will get into pairs using the Perfect Pair activity Pass out the action
verbs handout
o Leaders will have then have five minutes to think about what they learned
from the last activity, review the action verbs handout, and reflect on how
their role as an SI leader connects to their future career
Leaders will then INDIVIDUALLY write down three bullets to
describe their SI/Peer leader experience
o When finished with bullet points, leaders will turn to their partner and peer
critique each others bullet points

Promoting and Marketing SI!
o Now that we are coming back from Spring break, its time to get students
excited about SI again!
o To do so, SI leaders will be passing out new SI Bookmarks during their class
meeting times!
The new design was inspired by suggestions from Mentors Austin &
Selena!
o Please grab Bookmarks on the way out of the BWSM!
All bookmarks that are leftover can be brought back to the SSC and left
on resource cabinet
Mentors & Supervisors to help pass them out!
Each stack (which is rubber-banded) has 100 bookmarks
Ask the leader how many they need and/or reference the course
placement document with that information on it (included with
