Session Focus

After taking onboard feedback given from classroom peers / project mentor and other
musically inclined friends, the main focus of this session will be the drums (in
particular the kick and snare drum).

To begin with the snare and kick drum will be tuned and tightened in order to clean
the attack and decay hits when hit. The snare needs to contain less rattle and the kick
drum less resonance on the tail end. Through running the kick and snare channels
through a gating rack and compressor/preamp, with hardware EQ'ing, these two

drum elements should be more pronounced in the mix and separate each individual
part.

Rather than just record the drummer playing along to a pre-existing drum pattern
with all the kit elements, the kick and snare will be recorded first, before over-dubbing
the hats, ride crash and tom parts.
