PART I
1. Think about what you can contribute to your field of study to enrich it. What is your product
going to be? Remember, it must give back and educate/impact others in a positive way. Write
the name of an individual (adult/teacher/advisor) who will assist with the product.
_ My final product is going to be a brochure and the names of two adults who will be helping me are
Ms. Theresa LaMotte and Mr. Mide Savage

2. Besides the fact that it is a requirement, why did you choose this product to communicate your
research? (Your product should reflect the research you have done.)
I chose this product because I feel as though it is the best and most efficient way to present my
research to other people

3. What is the purpose of your product? Why do you think it is significant?

_ The purpose of my product is to inform people of the severity and commonness of an ACL injury
and also provide examples of exercises that can be done to make a recovery faster

4. Who is the intended audience, and why will they benefit from this product? How will you
arrange the final presentation?
_The intended audience is a group of physical therapists/trainers/health teachers/coaches from Pivot
Physical Therapy such as Rebeka Coleman, Jane Isleib, Carlene Jerome and others who want to help
young athletes get through this injury or prevent it altogether. I will arrange the final presentation by
passing out brochures and then explaining them.

PART II
What is your plan for your product progress? You need to start somewhere. What are you going to
accomplish each day for the next three weeks? Fill out the chart with your goals/objectives for each
week. Under each weeks goal/objective, list three specific tasks that you will do each week (approx.
one every other day) that will lead you to the achievement of your goal/objective.

Check #1: March 21

Main Goal/Objective: Begin to brainstorm the format of the product
How you will accomplish the goal/objective, and what materials will you need?
Create a blank brochure template on Microsoft Word
Fill in titles into template
Try different title formats and theme colors and find the best presentation format for the product

Check #2: April 5

Main Goal/Objective: I will fill in the left side of the brochure with information with females and ACL
injuries
How you will accomplish the goal/objective, and what materials will you need?
I will accomplish this goal by putting the information together and pasting it on the brochure,
making sure that it is positioned correctly.

Check #3: April 27

Main Goal/Objective: _I will fill in the middle column of the brochure with the information on surgeries
and the statistics regarding ACL injuries
How you will accomplish the goal/objective, and what materials will you need?
_I will accomplish this goal by using my annotated bibs and my other documents to put together
a summarized version of my research so that it will fit on the brochure.

Check #4: May 13

Main Goal/Objective: I will fill in the right column and back of my brochure
How you will accomplish the goal/objective, and what materials will you need?
I will accomplish this goal by using diagrams and also by using the information I gathered on the
different excercises used to treat ACL injuries and also my own twist on it.

Check #5: June 2

Main Goal/Objective: I will present my brochure to the therapists at Pivot Physical Therapy
How you will accomplish the goal/objective, and what materials will you need?
I will accomplish this goal by setting up a meeting with them and then going to their clinic to
present my brochure

PART III
Product Grading Rubric:
In order to produce an effective product, it helps to have a rubric. If the requirements are determined
ahead of time, then creating the product will be easier. Although I will be the primary grader for
your products (your audience will also be grading you), I think that it is imperative for you to feel
ownership. Assuming that the product is worth 100 points, how would you divide the points? What
would be your grading criteria? How many points would each category be worth? Fill out the
following chart. You do NOT need to fill in every box.
