confident that my passion and abilities as an educator, combined with my strong academic
qualifications and my commitment to lifelong learning will be assets to the students in your
school.
My passion for teaching originates from my goal to inspire, develop the whole student and
motivate diverse learners. I foster this goal by demonstrating respect and care for all students,
understanding individual needs, the importance of establishing positive relationships, as well
as the inclusion of extra-curricular activities for student success. My continued interest,
dedication and commitment to the VIS community over the past few months also demonstrate
my desire to become a valuable member of your school community.
During my teaching practicums I was able to use various methods of instruction, program
delivery and assessment to identify, and most importantly, meet the learning needs of my
students, and provide them with the tools required to achieve high levels of success. Through
the use of stations I incorporated many multiple intelligences into lessons ensuring
engagement and success of all students. I also employed effective classroom management
strategies, including, but not limited to, the use of proximity to promote acceptable student
behaviour and positive reinforcement in the form of encouragement, recognizing students
when they were following routines and meeting expectations.
In addition to my skills as a front line educator, I also encompass excellent organizational,
leadership and interpersonal skills. I believe that an educators role extends to leadership far
beyond the classroom. In my capacity as a lead facilitator of the Quantum Kidz Lego Learning
program, I have trained new staff and facilitated programs. Additionally, I value diverse
perspectives and enjoy working in collaboration with other teachers on projects, activities or
solution-focused problem resolution, the outcomes of which enhance student learning. For
example, I worked alongside five teacher candidates to organize and facilitate a
Remembrance Day assembly for students to reflect and look towards building a better future. I
am confident my leadership skills, ability to work as part of a team, and to create an effective
classroom environment for all students are an excellent fit with the values and mandate of
Voice Integrative School.
As an educator, I believe that I am equipped to assist students prepare academically and
socially for their future as global citizens. I am a firm believer in ongoing professional
development and, this summer, upon completion of my Masters of Teaching I will be pursuing
completion of an Additional Qualification course in the Primary Division. My Masters of
Teaching research paper also focuses on the importance and implementation of proactive
prevention programs for cyber bullying built into the curriculum and being part of the fabric of
daily classroom learning.
I am confident that my commitment to professional growth, global education and lifelong
learning for students and teachers would make me a valuable addition to your staff. Thank
