Logos
Description: These are three possible logos for the local 50s
diner, SodaVine.
Programs Used: Adobe Illustator
Date: February 20, 2016
Course: Visual Media, Section 1
Instructor: Ben Pingel
Objective: Create three completely different, original logos
to fit a company or personal image that will appeal to the
audience. Do not imitate existing logos or use previous
designs, Use only the Illustra-tor tools to create and draw your
logos. No Illustrator pre-fabricated flares, symbols, No photos
or live tracing.
Process: The first thing I did in this process was decide to
feature SodaVine for my logo. I am one of the managers at
SodaVine and thought it would be fun to recreate the current
logo we have into something more modern and eye-catching,
but still give off that 50s vibe. To do this I sketched out plenty
of different options for my logo, used Adobe Illustrator to
design 3 of them, and then finally picked one to refine into
different versions. Picking my favorite one was a hard decision
because after getting votes from other people, I found
that most people liked one that differed from my personal
preference. In the end, I went with my gut and decided on
the one that I liked the best and felt really portrayed the
atmosphere in SodaVine.
