Objectives: My message is one of gratitude. I want people
who see the flier to remember what a beautiful world we live
in, and then remember to thank God for this blessing.

Process: For this project, because it had to be a spiritual

theme, I really wanted to do something with the earth. For the
Beauty of the Earth is one of my favorite hymns, and its lyrics
served as my inspiration. I used my two favorites kinds of pictures, one of the earth, and another of a forest landscape. Because my project was focused on the earth, I wanted to have
the space picture in the background. I blended the two images
using the brush, and mask, tool on Photoshop. Then I started
working on my typography. I wanted the words earth and
beauty to stand out, so I put them in a script font. Then I
played with the placement of the text, so the words would diagonally lead into the earth. The Focus principles I used the most
where typography, color, and alignment.

Objectives: People to become part of the Doc Marten community for the spirit and integrity of their company.

Process: I used Illustrator to create my logo, Photoshop to

edit all of the photos I used before I put them into my project,
and Illustrator for the outline and printing of the finished product. Throughout this project I learned a lot of new skills about
how to use each of these programs. I also got to see their
similarities and differences between each of them as I navigated
back and forth. Similar to previous projects, I used the shape
tool a lot. This allowed me to create interesting interactions
between the images and the text, as well as allowing me to incorporate a triangle design element. I think the design element
I used the most was gestalt. This was a very large project, so I
sometimes had to take a step back and look at the big picture.

Objectives: My message is for people to come to a color run
in April 22nd in order to raise money for people in a legal crisis.
This is an important and prevalent issue, so all the proceeds will
go to a legal aid clinic.

Process: I wanted the title to look sleek and edgy, so I used

a sans serif, and the body copy adds contrast with serifs. I used
many of the color tools inside of word in order to get the colors match and stand out. I also struggled with putting the text
in places that did not look awkward. However, once I started
focusing on alignment the text started to fall into place.

Objectives: My message is get people to purchase their music at Music Millennium, a record store in Portland.

Process: I mainly used the shapes, and text tools, but I also
had work a lot with covering certain parts of the shape, so only
half of the record would show. Out of the FOCUS principles, I
mainly used color, alignment, and proximity. I wanted my logo to
be condensed, yet easy to read, and follow. This logo I chose was
actually the first I made of the three, but I am glad that I chose
it. I think it shows my best skill level of the three. Overall, I enjoyed the creativity of this project, and I also loved representing
Portland (my hometown).

Objectives: My message was one of happiness and optimism.
It tells people to choose to put a smile on their face everyday,
which can help them to be happier. It also holds the message
that I know that basic techniques of Photoshop.

Process: I used that basic image adjustments tool; levels, vibrance, and selective color. I also used the sharpen tool slightly
on the hair, eyes, and certain parts of the tree. The other tools
I used were for text, color dropper, and shapes. The main skills
I used had to to with composition of the photo. I worked really
hard while shooting to make sure that my model was placed at
the right distance of the tree to satisfy the rules of thirds, and
to make room to add in text. Lastly, although I think I could have
done better, I did focus a lot on color. I work with the selective
color tool a lot, but I also drew from the Focus principle, alignment. Because the text was sitting on a picture, I did not want
any text to seem out of place or random.

Process: I used Illustrator first for creating the logo, and then
switched to InDesign for the rest. I think the FOCUS element,
which a paid the most attention to were color, and typography.
I also had to use more of my time management skill during this
project, as I was leaving town on Friday and would not have access to any Adobe programs. Overall, I liked using this programs,
but I need to work on complexity, which I hope will come with
more practice.

eye, and learn how to use InDesign (as this was my first time
using the program). The main focus principles I used were
message, audience, repetition, shape, proximity, and alignment.

Objectives: The purpose of this website was to inform the
local public, of Portland OR, about what this record store has
to offer.

Process: For this project I used coding for the first time. For
the first week we used HTML, and CSS for the second week. I
actually found coding to be really fun, and exremely frustrting
at the same time. I had many grand hopes for this project, but
was unable to accomplish some of them because I was going
through a crash course in coding. Through this project, I was
able to learn the basic outline in coding, which I think will be
useful for any communication field I go into.
