Business Card
Description: A business card with a hand-designed logo.

Process: I created the logo using tools in Adobe illustrator.

I used the pencil tool to create the mountains and clouds, then
used the eyedropper tool to match the colors front and back.

Objective: Create a business card that can be easily carried

and handed out to anyone, specifically veterans, interested in
the organization On the Rocks Adventures.

Letter Head
Description: A letter head and water mark to
match the business cards.

Process: I created the logo using tools in Adobe

illustrator. I used the pencil tool to create the

mountains and clouds. I then saved the logo and
opened it again in Adobe InDesign and shrank it
down. I copied the mountain design and enlarged it,
then changed the opacity to 15% as my watermark.

Objective: Create stationery to be used for the

organization On the Rocks Adventures.

DESIGNS

Logo
Description: A hand-designed logo for EB designs.

Process: I created the logo using Adobe Illustrator. I

used the shaper tool to create the various levels of circles

and rectangle in the design. I then used the shaper tool
to create a triangle and place behind my lettering.

Objective: Create a variety of options of the same logo

DESIGNS

for companies to select whichever they prefer.

Montage
Description: An inspirational montage made by
blending two images with Adobe Photoshop.

Process: I chose two photos to use for my design,

then set the photo of the volcano as my background.

I attached the photo of the galaxy then blended the
hard edges with a soft brush at 100% opacity. I then
blended the rest of the image with a soft brush at 30%
opacity. Next I created a textbox with a quote by Elder
Russell M. Ballar. I matched the colors of the text to
colors found in the image. I djusted the coloring of my
images by toning down the cyan and bringing out the
magenta.

Objective: Convey a powerful message to the audi-

ence that Gods hand is all around us.

Imaging
Description: An original photo with demonstrated imaging and
editing skills, incorporating the photo into poster layout.

Process: I first sketched out ideas and possibilities for my

poster. I then went around BYU-Idaho Ricks Gardens taking

photos with a digital camera, then decided on which photo would
be best for my message. I picked a color scheme, and edited my
photo in Adobe Photostop so as to make the colors of my scheme
stand out more against the other colors in the photo. I brightened
the colors (complementary red and green), sharpened the image,
and adjusted the saturation. I designed my swatch with the fruit
in mind to create repetition. I created a white opaque text box so
as to make my copy legible while still maintaining the integrity of
the design and colors.

Objective: Attract the audience with the colorful fruit and

familiar song lyrics, and using that tool to encourage them to

donate their unused warm clothes to those in need.

Event Ad
Description: A colored full-bleed event ad promoting a cooking

event with proceeds going toward Salvation Armys Soup Kitchen.

Process: I first found the image I wanted to use in a recipe book,

then scanned it into my computer. I adjusted the ppi to fit to
Microsoft Word. Then I added a text box and filled it with the
green found in my image for repetition. To complete my tetradic
color scheme, I added blue text as the title and copy.

Objective: Attract readers and encourage them to come to the

cooking event for helpful cooking tips and a good cause.

Web Page
Description: A website designed to showcase a personally
designed logo

Process: I created this page using TextWrangler. I used HTML

and CSS coding. After completing my code, I validated it using
Mozila Firefox. I attached my logo that I creaed using Adobe
Illustrator, then attached a link to my blog and the OTR
Adventures website. I copied the colors from my logo into my
website design using the eyedropper tool in Photoshop. I then
adjusted the padding of my website.

Objective: Design a webpage for the OTR Adventures

organization, encouraging others to learn more about what the

organization does and what others can do to help.

Description: A duplex folded brochure for the company

Process: I folded my brochure in a newletter format, designing

it to look like a house. I created the home using the Square and
Star shapes in Adobe InDesign. The back of my brochure includes
a hand-designed logo created in Adobe Illustrator. The inside of
my brochure includes two full-bleed images designed to make the
brochure look more like a home. I adjusted the opacity and
included text boxes to make the copy easier to read. I wrapped text
around an image I edited in Adobe Photoshop using the lasso tool.
