Introduction
I am a mature student who has had a long and varied working life and am
now studying a degree in Fine Art. This has been a fulfilment of a long
ambition and I am using this as a personal development and commitment
to learning through practical and academic discipline.
I have participated in group and individual workshops, where experimental
and traditional techniques are demonstrated. I have collaborated in group
exhibitions and community projects. I am able to work individually but
also enjoy working in a group, where exchanges of ideas and inspiration
from fellow students. This degree course has allowed me to immerse
myself in art full time, use the excellent facilities and be introduced to new
materials and techniques, consider ideas and be mentored by tutors. My
own work ethic and experience in my varied jobs has allowed me to make
the transition from the job market to student with commitment and
enthusiasm, which has always been central to my career.

Interests
I have many interests, which include belonging to a community art group,
and share my knowledge of art skills in this environment whenever
possible. I enjoy visiting stately homes and gardens around Britain. I
volunteer at a local community project for disabled adults when the
opportunity arises.
