CAFOS ARE BASED OFF INDUSTRIAL AGRICULTURE AND FACTORY FARMING, LIVESTOCK THAT ARE RAISED THERE GET CONFINED INTO A SMALL SPACE. A MAJORITY OF OUR MEAT ARE PRODUCED BY CAFOS. CAFOS ARE HAVING A DETRIMENTAL IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT BECAUSE THE LIVESTOCK PRODUCE MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF WASTE, AND DONT DISPOSAL THE WASTE PROPERLY. DUE TO MASS PRODUCTION OF WASTE, THIS SHOWS THAT THE ODORS AND CHEMICALS ARE EASILY BEING RELEASED INTO THE AIR. AMMONIA AND HYDROGEN SULFIDE, WHICH ARE ONLY SOME OF THE TOXINS THAT LIVESTOCK WASTE CARRIES, ARE POLLUTING THE AIR (DON HOPEY, 2015). IN ADDITION, THE TOXINS THAT LIVESTOCK RELEASES CAUSES IRREVERSIBLE BRAIN DAMAGE, DIZZINESS, HEADACHE, NAUSEA, SORE THROAT, SINUSITIS, BURNING EYES, AND OTHER ILLNESSES (SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE AGRICULTURAL PROJECT, 2016). THIS REVEALS THAT, THE COMMUNITIES AROUND THE CAFO FARMS ARE NOT SAFE. THE PEOPLE THAT LIVE IN THE COMMUNITIES AROUND CAFOS HAVE A HIGHER CHANCE TO DEVELOP ILLNESSES, AND BE IN POOR CONDITION ONLY BECAUSE DISPOSAL IN LIVESTOCK WASTE IS MANAGED POORLY. IF THE LIVESTOCK ARE CONFINED INTO A SMALL SPACE, THAT ALSO MEANS THAT THEYRE STEPPING EACH OTHERS WASTE COMBINED AND THAT IT IS REALLY UNSANITARY. IN ADDITION, THE LIVESTOCK ARE KEPT IN AN APPALLING CONDITION (MCCLATCHY-TRIBUNE NEWS SERVICE, 2011). THIS REVEALS THAT, IF THE ANIMALS ARE KEPT IN APPALLING CONDITION, THEY WOULD NEED CONSTANT MEDICATION. CAFOS CAN PRODUCE MORE THAN 500 MILLION TONS OF MANURE PER YEAR, THREE TIMES MORE THAN THE HUMAN POPULATION (DON HOPEY, 2015). THERE ARE ALSO 168 GASSES EMITTED FROM CAFO WASTE (SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE AGRICULTURAL PROJECT, 2016). FACTORY FARMS ARE ALSO ALLOWED TO KEEP THE DISPOSAL AND STORE THEM. THIS REVEALS THAT, THE ODORS AND CHEMICALS ARE EASILY BEING RELEASED INTO THE AIR.
