Describe the techniques Hitler used to organize a large majority of German people to accept and
promote Nazi ideology.
One technique Hitler used in order to convince the Germans into accepting and
promoting Nazi ideology was to advocate hope. Surprisingly, ... [Hitler] stimulated emotions
of attraction to a better future. He gave hope, (Website 2). However, he mainly did this to
console and reassure his citizens rather than actually promising them a better future. In reality,
Hitler would destroy everything Germany had left for his own personal pleasure. He aimed to
exterminate anything and everything that mightve gone against his idea of the perfect world.
Furthermore, Hitlers inordinate use of trigger words helped him to maintain the support
and attention of his audiences and allowed them to get exceedingly excited about his
speeches, (Website 3). His extensive vocabulary kept the crowd entertained as he spoke about
Nazi ideology. He used positive and uplifting words when mentioning Germany, and he used
negative words when mentioning others to encourage the idea that Germany is the perfect and
overpowering nation. Notably, Hitler used the failures of Germanys preceding
government, the Weimar democracy, to his advantage in order to win over the people of
Germany. When the Nazi Party took over, he and other officials of the Nazi regime made it
point to appeal to the issues that their citizens were feeling at the time, (Website 1). By
doing this, Hitler and his companions managed to gain the trust of the German citizens
completely. Improving the German citizens way of living relinquishes Hitler from any doubt the

Germans might have had against him. This allows Hitler to immediately gain the favor of the
German citizens due to how well he has treated them so far. Hitler not only uses advocating hope
as a way to persuade Germans, but he also utilizes propaganda as well.
Another technique Hitler used to convince the German citizens into accepting and
promoting Nazi ideology was to utilize propaganda. For instance, Hitler created the
Swastika logo and Goebbels produced posters that presented slogans such as "Hitler
Germany's last chance" and "One people, One nation, One leader". Both slogans
ultimately implied that Hitler was the authoritative figure and the country of Germany
would be nothing without him, (Website 1). With this idea plastered all over Germany, the
German citizens were easily brainwashed into thinking that Hitler mattered more than anything
else. Due to the repetition of such ideas, Hitler grew to be quite famous throughout all of
Germany. Since the slogans are so catchy, they became permanently etched into the minds on the
citizens, which is why it was so effective. Additionally, The entire German population was
certainly not as heartless and cruel as Hitler was, so it stands to reason that Hitler must
have been a masterful propagandist in order to persuade the Germans that his policies
were necessary and just, (Website 3). This excerpt shows just how easy it can be to be
corrupted by Hitler and his ways. Although the deeds he promoted may have been cruel and
unjust, Hitler was supported by his followers every step of the way because their beliefs in him
never faltered. Little did they know, that being so ignorant would cost many lives. In fact, As
he learned the propaganda arts he learned how to stage things for effect, (Website 2). This
technique helped Hitler to enlighten his followers about the future. He created understood what
his citizens were feeling beforehand, and was able to build up upon that by creating the tension
that led up to a dramatic moment. Having this effect upon the Germans allowed Hitler to gain

more favor when it came to others accepting and sharing his Nazi ideology. Overall, Hitler uses
many forms of propaganda and persuading the masses in order to convince Germans to accept
and promote Nazi ideology.

Hitler convinced German citizens into accepting and promoting Nazi ideology by using
his technique of persuading the masses. In particular, ...Hitler is claiming that one must try
to appeal to the lowest form of intelligence in order to gain acceptance by the
overwhelming majority of a population, (Website 1). From the beginning, Hitler disrespects
his own people by underestimating their mental understanding as a group. He treats them as first
graders who barely know how to read and write, yet the simplicity in how portrays his views is
effective because even children can understand it. This proved to be efficient when seeking the
citizens help because the simpler the idea is made to be, the easier others think it can be done.
Moreover, Freud went on to say that groups 'show [an] unmistakeable picture of a
regression of mental activity to an earlier stage such as... children, (Website 3). This
proves that Hitler was correct, and that his method of persuading the masses rather than
persuading people one by one was working. When in groups, individuals fall into the state of
peer pressure because he or she doesn't want to make a wrong decision for the group and be
responsible for the outcome. Hence the reason why many intelligent individuals let others do the
thinking for them in such large groups. In fact, Fromm said that [Hitler] relied upon the
idea of the unworthiness of the individual, his fundamental ability to rely on himself, and
his need to submit, (Website 2). Persuading the masses as Hitler did proved to be effective
because no one in such groups would think to rebel against him. Hitler made it possible to where
there was no room in citizens minds to doubt him. The citizens were easy to persuade because,

in a group, they needed a leader to look up to in order to function. In this case, the leader that
would govern them to destruction rather than safety was Hitler. In conclusion, Hitler utilizes
persuading the masses along with many other tactics to persuade the German people to accept
and promote Nazi ideology.
