Dear Professional Standards Command,
I found him, 23 years later, Superintendent Robert Redfern, this is the
NSW Police officer who departmentally charged me when off injured for 4
years applying for a medical discharge, when requested by fax, to supply
the medical evidence relied on to issue a " Lawful direction " to return to
duties with a current valid medical certificate, he asked my Barrister, " Are
you running this as a medical thing or disciplinary thing " and he was the
prosecutor. 
He stated to me in the foyer of the NSW Police tribunal, " You'd be happy
if this just died a natural death and you can peruse your appeal ( Medical
discharge ), I agreed that would be the most proper course of action.
Two years later at a mention at the same Tribunal. he stated to solicitor
Jim Hall, "he said, ( Boland ) if we didn't pursue the charge he'd resign " .
A total fabrication and lie to force my resignation rather than to withdraw
the charge from the NSW Police tribunal after a further 2 years in the list
and the presiding judge stated, " Well are you going to prosecute this or
not " and gave a further month for mention for a reply.
I was then forced to resign under duress and re­apply as a former
member under the Police Regulation Superannuation Act 1906, losing my
initial application as a serving member and 4 years in time.
He was an up and coming ambitious Sergeant then, now they tell me this
officer is a Superintendent of NSW Police injury management, well that is
how he managed my injury.

Interesting to here sciponie stating that the
widow of Sgt Richardson will not just have support
now, but for as long as they need it. Does this
signify a change in policy by the department???

Clare Moore Your post about Robert Redfern was most probably deleted
by the Sgt of Police who has the job of infiltrating, reading and reporting all
posts regarding police on all the police sites, regardless of the privacy
settings. This in itself, is an invasion of privacy and carried out without
warrant (something Cath is very good at! ). 
If an honourable man like Nick Kaldas had to jump ship before the
Ombudsman's report comes out in a few months, where they will probably
turn the tables back on him and ignore the illegal warrants that were
illegally taken out and signed off by current serving judges....involving
Burn, Skippy, Devine....what hope have, the little people like us ever go
Berrick Boland Exactly, talk about insidious corruption, public confidence in
the Commissioner's office must be non­existent.

Mike Fulton Well done Berrick, keep up the good fight, is there anyway
that human rights issues can be raised with the relevant bodies as it
seems that you and all the others that are fighting for justice and a fair
outcome are being treated worse than prisoners of war with the
incarceration. 
Perhaps a show of strength from all service personnel throughout the
country in a display of unity outside government buildings might be what is
needed. Would certainly raise the focus more on the media worldwide.

The Forgotten 300 ( Extract from a former injured admin's story ) ; I
subsequently stressed out and had to beg and borrow at the time to go
around to all the doctors and service providers and pay their invoices.
Around 3 years later with no contact from anyone from NSW Police, up
pops a letter by a Sgt Robert Redfern, disciplinary unit, stating words to
the effect, either resign or face the departmental charge of, ' disobey
lawful direction, to return to duty '. ( by Inspector Waites). I have a copy of
an internal report by Sgt Robert Redfern stating words to the effect, '
charging the member with 'disobey lawful direction ' would be an efficient
and effective way of terminating his service.

Sharon Hughes If youhave a current medical certificate issued under the
workcover legislation then a direction to return to work is not a lawful
direction. the Supreme court has ruled repeatedly that a valid certificate must
be accepted!

Another story just in about dealing with Superintendent ROBERT
REDFERN.
From a few years back on Australia day more then enough police officers
in Parramatta over kill anyhow a probationary officer from Newcastle was
expecting the birth of his first son and was born on that day or night
before he asked if he could have it off to be with his wife and new born ,
Redfern told him no and that he will get kicked out , probie stayed working
obviously depressed and didn't do much that shift as it was a over kill with
so many police officers  
Unfortunately its a sad story to tell his son when he grows up how the
boss treated him.

Phil Fraser I had a Sergeant tell me to get to work or else when I rang him
from the birthing unit as my boy was just about to be delivered. 

Lucky he was out ranked and I was told to stay and could have immediate
holidays.

Shiney Squizza I had a super at the lac I was working at­ tell me the same
thing during the 2000 Sydney Olympics ­ I was a sen con at the time with
1000's hrs of sick leave ­ and a understanding doctor ­ and my wife had a c­
section....

Hi Berrick
A quick confidential question I was informed last week via voicemail mind
you that I have been Medically Discharged after 22 years of service due to
PTSD (accepted claim). I was informed that I was entitled to no insurance
cover than WC and TAL for 16 more months after that without the 15% or
more TPD I will not be entitled to anything. What happened to PPD
claims? Do they still exist??
I'm distraught, distressed and have an overwhelming feeling of loss ­ still
grieving from my MD!

This is a story just in by one of our members to me in confidence, I find
the story a National disgrace and it relates to Superintendent ROBERT
REDFERN the current OIC of NSW Police Injury management at Surrey
Hills.
I am calling for Deputy Commissioner David Hudson, Corporate Affairs, to
investigate this allegation and terminate the contract of REDFERN, made
about one of our finest military personell going into the battle fields from
the NSW Police force with the parting comment from Superintendent
ROBERT REFERN, ( Hope you don't come back ) from the comfort of his
air conditioned office at Parramatta at the time.

Not at all this boils my blood u have no idea!!!! 
We had a officer Dave Cory who was the most humble bloke you would meet ,
he was also a Commando in the army served in tours and Afghanistan, I think
in his fourth year in the police his country asked for his service again , under
Superintendent Robert REDFERN he went on tour once i believe then time
went passed asked again to ROBERT REDFERN, REDFERN denied it and
went crazy about it, threatening that he would lose his job etc. Dave did the
right thing and got his big boss to overturn it embarrassing Superintendent
ROBERT REDFERN he had no choice, when REDFERN saw him before he
left, Dave said to him I have no choice no hard feelings etc. REDFERN KICKED
him OUT of HIS office and told him hope you DON'T come back, ( From a tour
of duty ) when asked what he meant by that he told Dave to leave , not even
wishing him luck or thanking him for his service 
Dave resigned after this and went back to full time army.

A absolute loss for the force tough as nails and humble.

Yorrick Hunt It still gets me so angry that these sorts of blokes get promoted
over and above good blokes. Now Nick Kaldas has gone too. There's no way
knowing what I know now would I ever think of joining the cops if I had my
time again. It truly is a thankless job and bosses like this idiot Redfern make it
so much more thankless and harder.

Superintendent Robert Redfern, OIC of injury management NSW Police,
either resign or face the wrath of The Forgotten 300's admin in the
coming weeks.
I am going to give you the options you gave me, when I was off injured
and without any medical care, cut from the payroll and medical bills sent
to my home address, well see how you like it.

prisoners when I had a heart attack. Refused to put someone in. Then in
Hospital, the chief cardiologist writes out a sickness certificate stamped
from the hospital...he refused to accept it because it wasn't a work cover
certificate. Fucking scum. I hope you are rotting in a very lonely dark

looked after " family" .... I for one always taught children to respect the
