The school isn't easy to find because the location of it is inside the subdivision where it's
neighbourhoods are houses, sari-sari stores, and there is also a "bukid", yet the school campus
is clean, you can find trash cans anywhere and the buildings have paint and I think those
buildings cannot easily break by calamities. There are comfort rooms for boys and girls. The
offices are like classrooms, where you can easily move because it has space. The offices are
clean and the things that you can find on that are well-organized.

An Observation Guide for the CLASSROOM VISIT

Be guided by these tasks as you do your observation. Then accomplish the

matrix to record your data.
1. Look at the walls of the classroom. What are posted on the walls? What heroes,
religious figures, lessons, visual aids, announcements, do you see posted?
2. Examine how the furniture is arranged. Where is the teachers table located? How
are the tables and chairs/desks arranged?
3. What learning materials/equipment are present?
4. Observe te students. How many are occupying one room?
5. Is the room well lighted and well ventilated?

The school environment is clean yet when I enter in the classroom I see a broken chairs that are
using by the students, it also has 4 electric fans but only 2 can use. And when it comes to the
floor it is shiny but slippery. There is a classroom that when I look out on the window, I see a
"bukid" and I see a mosquitoes entering in the classroom. I'm afraid that those insects will bite
the students. But the room has there cleaning materials at the back.

I found out that one of the factors could help in motivating students to learn was the learning
environment, because the environment of the school supports the teaching and learning
process. Like, students are willing and motivated to learn when the school environment is safe
and well-ventilated. And the teacher is more energetic and excited to teach and share the
knowledge if he knew that his students are safe.

Your Analysis
How do the school campus and the classroom in particular impact on the learning of the
students going to school? What are your conclusions?

The school campus and the classroom can affect on student's learning, like they are some
students who don't listen on their teacher because their focus is at the side of the window where
you can find a "bukid". My conclusion is the teacher should always know what his/her student's
doing. And he/she must have a motivation to catch up the student's attention.

How does this relate to your knowledge of child and adolescent development? How does
this relate to your knowledge of facilitating learning?
When it comes to student's learning, they can't easily understand the lesson, because they are
having the short span of attention. So, if the teacher's topic is boring they just looking at the
window instead of listening. It is related on facilitating learning, where I can see that students
learning shall be facilitated in order for them to learn well.

Your Reflections
1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just observed? Why? Why
not?
Yes, of course because I am a future educator and I'm willing to share my knowledge and
skills and change the perception of the students having difficulty with math subject. And
also the school environment is clean and safe and that school is near at my house.
2. What kind of school campus is conducive to learning?
A school campus that is clean, having an environment which is safe and has fresh air. And
buildings having paint, and school facilities in good condition.
3. In the future, how can you accomplish your answer in number 3?
A kind of classroom which is safe, clean and well-organized. Like classroom that has
cleaning materials at the back (trash can, broom, dustpan), black board, chalk, eraser,
chairs in good condition, floors that aren't slippery but shiny.
4. Write your additional learnings and insights here.
I can accomplish it by doing that kind of classroom when I become a teacher someday. I
used to know how to organize my students when it comes to their classroom. I should
never start teaching if the classroom is messy.
