ABSTRACT
The drug Zofron is the primary subject this paper will be
issuing. The history of Zofron will be described in details. In
addition to its chemical make up and structure. Zofron has so
many side effects that will be presented. Zofron presence in the
world will be identified, and the purpose behind it. However,
Zofron has lots of names spoken differently in many areas, and
will be viewed. Basically, this sheet will be a detailed research
paper that provides accurate information about Zofron. i
INTRODUCTION
Zofron was invented in the early 1980s in England, by a
branch of the U.S. Company known as GlaxoSmithKline (GSK).
Zofran ranked as the 20th highest selling brand name drug in the
U.S. The FDA approved Zofran beginning in January 1991 because
it prevents nausea and vomiting associated with cancer therapy.
Teva Pharmaceuticals USA and SICOR Pharmaceuticals were the
first companies to be granted FDA approval for this drug. Zofron

was mostly used in the U.S by pregnant women, in which it


ceased them from vomiting. iiZofron is placed in the most
important medications needed in a basic health system list. iii
METHODS
Materials used to make the chemical make up of Zofron
entails:
1. Toothpicks
2. Gummy bear candy
3. Plastic balls
However procedures include:
Sticking tooth picks in between gummy bears and plastic
balls to make the desired shapes.

Zofran is used to prevent nausea and vomiting that may be
caused by surgery or by medicine to treat cancer (chemotherapy
or radiation).vi

Side effects of zofran:


Common side effects of Zofran include diarrhea, headache,
fever, light headedness, dizziness, drowsiness, constipation, rash,
blurred vision and muscle spasm.vii
Presence in the world:
It commonly exists in India, Bangladesh, Korea, U.S, and in
most other countries in the world.viii
Presence in Palestine:
It does exist in Palestine, Gaza.
