II. PROJECT DECSRIPTION

1. Brief Summary of the Project
The target area for road concreting serves now as a major route of farmers going to
mountain areas of Guinobatan and Sipi. The ease that the project will give to farmers will
encourage them to increase their production.
Situated near the foot of the mountain where there is an abundant supply of water,
growth of other agriculture-based business such as livestock and poultry raising is
expected emerged. The target area is also located near the industrial zone of the
municipality as such commercial establishments are expected to sprout in the area.
Concreting of the road will also lift passersby particularly the pupils going to Guinobatan
Elementary School from the danger brought about by the usual muddy and slippery
condition of the road.

The foregoing economic advantages are expected to reduce households with income
below poverty threshold from 57.58% to 40% or from133 HHs to 92 HHs by the end of 2017.

2. Project objective
In line with the National thrusts and the LGUs present administration goal of reducing the
poverty in the countryside through more improved road network, the main objective of
the proposed project is to provide an easy and better access road to residents and to
famers. Such advantage will encourage farmers to produce more crops, emergence of
livestock and poultry raising business, and growth of other entrepreneurial undertakings
since the area is situated near the industrial zone of the municipality.

3. Expected Output
80 linear meter road concreting with a width of 4.0m and thickness of 0.15m and 50
meter ripraping. Said road concreting should connect to the Catanduanes
Circumferential Road.
