ABSTRACT
Efforts to reduce maternal, infant and toddler mortality, improving
the nutritional status of the community as well as the prevention and
control of communicable diseases remains a priority in the national
development of the health sector. To improve maternal health status,
health center, referral hospital held a variety of health efforts, such as
promotive, preventive, and curative and rehabilitative. Such efforts are in
the form of health care for pregnant women, deliveries by skilled health
personnel, management of complications, family planning and
reproductive health
This study aims to determine the relationship of mother knowledge
about pregnancy with compliance implementation of Ante Natal Care
(ANC) on primigravida Clinic Sunggal Medan in 2015. The research type is
survey analytic research with cross sectional approach. Populations
were12 respondents and samples are 12 respondents. The samples were
drawn by total sampling technique. Data were processed and analyzed
using Chi-square test statistic.
Based on these results, it is found that that there is a relationship
between mother's knowledge about pregnancy and the implementation
Ante Natal Care (ANC) on primigravida in Medan Sunggal Clinic in 2015
where the results of the calculation were X count 12,000 > Xtable 5.99
and p value = 0.002.
The study concludes that there is a relationship between mother's
knowledge about pregnancy and implementation of Ante Natal Care (ANC)
on primigravida. Medical personnels should provide counseling and doing
routine inspection of antenatal care.
