Ethical Fallacy:

What is it?
"Fallacy" : Latin word: Fallere meaning "to
decieve, to trip, to lead into error or to trick"
To sum up it in just one sentence: "A false
principle of human conduct".
> Wrong or unsound philosophy of life
>A fallacy is an incorrect argument in logic and
rhetoric which undermines an argument's logical
validity or more generally an argument's logical
soundness.

1) Fallacy of the inverted order:

"Mistakes the means for the end"

Example: The so-called "Pig philosphy"

according to which man lives only to eat; but

for in this case eating which is merely a means

is made the very end of living!"

2) Fallacies of
Relevance
These fallacies appeal to evidence or
examples that are irrelevant to argument
at hand.
Example: "Bandwagon approach" (Ad
populum): It must be cool because
everyone is doing it

3) Fallacy of component: Errors in process

of reasoning

Example: Slippery Slope: If you dont stop

smoking cigerattes, then you are going to
shoot to start shootin g heroin" -"marijuana
is the gateway drug"

4) Fallacy of Pity:
Ad Misericordiam is an appeal to accpet the
truth of a conclusion out of pity for the arguer or
some third party. Either the arguer (or someone else)
is already an object of pity or they weill become one
if the conclusion is not accepted.

Example: If i don't get atleast a B in this course my GPA will

drop below 2.0.
If that happens i'll lose my scholarship
and have to quit school, so ought to get a B in this course.
