10. Description and Purpose of Organization (Limit length to visible area)

The Damascus High School Athletic Boosters is a non-profit organization of parents and
community members who work to raise funds and support the athletic programs at Damascus
High School. The Booster organization is made up of all parent/community volunteers. They
work alongside the school administration to determine what the school needs and find ways to
support those needs. Many times, the needs are financial, which include providing funds for
field maintenance or new team uniforms. Other times, the needs are for volunteer support,
such as finding parent volunteers to sell concessions during athletic events.

11. Description and Purpose of Project (Limit length to visible area)

The stadium field at Damascus High School is currently a grass field. The field gets a great
deal of use by both the sport teams at the high school and the community athletic
organizations. As a result of the condition of the field and the use, the field is often in a
muddy or torn up state. Installation of a turf field would improve playing conditions for the
school and community teams. This would allow students to play on a safer field and allow for
additional usage of the field. The Athletic Booster organization is working to raise funds to
provide for the design, construction, maintenance and capital equipping of a turf field in the
stadium at Damascus High School.
