Why (Rational):
Exploring art and sensory materials can build scientific thinking and vocabulary as
children experience the properties of various items and talk with adults about
what they are experiencing. As children work through their plans to build a
structure they also are building their cognitive skill. Which adults can support the
exploration of art and sensory materials through having a variety of materials
available as well as plenty of time for creation.
